Garden and Landscape Designer Kent
Garden and Landscape Designer Kent

Many people find it hard to visualise the true potential of their garden. They find themselves confused about where best to put plants, trees and other features such as patios, seating and dining areas, often making costly mistakes.

As a garden designer in the South East of England, I offer a service for everyone, whatever the size of their garden and their budget. My mission is to work in harmony with my clients to enhance their outside space, undertaking as little – or as much – as they wish.

  • I can produce something as simple as a coloured illustration, or mood board, to inspire clients willing to do the hard work themselves.
  • I provide an hourly service where I discuss a garden and its potential with a client.
  • I can create a detailed planting plan that shows a client what plants will thrive where in their garden.
  • And, where aspirations are high and a client wishes to invest time and money in their outdoor space, I can come up with a complete master plan, redesigning the garden to include hard landscaping and planting plans. I source plants from specialist nurseries and carry out the actual planting, and monitor the project in conjunction with the landscaping team.

To give clients a high quality service tailored to their individual needs and requirements, I work with a small number of trusted landscaping contractors, but if you already have a contractor in mind, I am happy to work with them.

I also source top-quality garden features and accessories to suit all tastes and budgets.

How does it work?

The most important stage in our work is the initial design meeting.  This is an exchange of information – a two-way process – and enables me to get to know you and your hopes for your dream garden. The purpose of this is to:

  • allow a free flow of ideas and information
  • build a relationship between you, the client, and me, the garden designer
  • inform me about your lifestyle and your likes and dislikes
  • identify your practical requirements and your own hopes for your ideal garden
together find a place to begin

A bit about me

My passion for landscape, gardens, plants and creativity has always been with me but as a youngster I never thought I’d one day be earning a living as a garden designer, and loving every second!

After leaving school I went to work as a PA in the City of London, but to indulge my love of landscape I took one day off a week and, by regularly staying up half the night, eventually achieved a distinction in my Garden Design Diploma at London’s Museum of Garden History.

I met my husband at a friend’s wedding and eventually we moved to the Kent countryside near Tunbridge Wells, where we had our twins in 2007.

Sadly, my lovely father died a few weeks before they were born, which put life into perspective and made me re-prioritise. He was always telling me to live for today, so I decided to follow his advice and fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a garden designer.

It wasn’t easy with two little ones in tow but I finally completed my Royal Horticultural Society exams at Hadlow College in Tonbridge in 2009.

It’s been a long haul to get to where I am today but I’m proud to say that I now have projects that range from new designs for large country gardens to straightforward planting plans for urban courtyards. In the past few years

I’ve transformed numerous gardens, little and large, simple and complex, because no job is ever too big or too small for me and my team.
