Garden Design Sittingbourne

Installed by Outdoor Creations

A unique shaped house with a very overgrown garden needed a new layout to make the most of the space.  The clients lived and worked in Malaysia and this was a great example of how we can collaborate and work remotely, until the clients were ready to move back to the UK.  The distance not being an issue for us – immaculate communication and our pro-active approach was imperative for this project to keep it running smoothly and without a hitch.

As all areas for potential design were long and narrow, we accentuated the vistas on all three sides of the house, adding vertical height so that the interest wasn’t all at ground level – maximising all areas of the garden as much as we could.

A long border was introduced with structural spheres of buxus and interspersed with herbaceous textural planting, sculptural multi stem Birch trees and the client’s much loved water feature.

Borders were deliberately created zones of interest, “pinching” the space on the path to create a feeling of mystery and interest so that it feels physically smaller as one walks through this area. This ensured the design wasn’t visible all in one go.

The existing large established birch tree was giving a new lease of life so that it became a feature, the crown was raised and the beautiful stems were exposed which is now a sculptural asset to the garden.
